What we collect
This website does not have customer accounts, and it does not take payments.
| Data | When we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name, email address, phone number, and message | You send the contact form |
| Name, email address, and the case study you asked about | You request a case study deliverables pack |

| Technical data such as IP address, browser, and pages viewed | You browse the site, or you submit a form |
Please do not send special-category data (for example health information) in a form. If you do, we will use it only as far as we need to handle that message.
How we use personal data
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to an enquiry, or send a deliverables pack you asked for | Legitimate interests in answering you. Where you are asking about work we might do for you, it is also steps at your request before a contract. |
| Send the quarterly newsletter | Consent. We add you only if you tick the box. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing mail@linedesigntechnology.com. |
| Check the form with Google reCAPTCHA | Legitimate interests in blocking spam and abuse. |
| Count visits with cookieless Plausible analytics | Legitimate interests in understanding which pages are used. |
| Measure visits with Google Analytics | Consent, given through the cookie banner. “Necessary only” keeps it off. |
| Show the office map on the contact page, after you choose to load it | Legitimate interests in showing where we are. |
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions.
Cookies and similar storage
You can accept analytics cookies or keep the site to necessary storage. The choice is stored in your browser and you can change it at any time with “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
| Name | Who sets it | Necessary |
|---|---|---|
ldt-cookie-consent (browser storage, not a cookie) | This website. Remembers your cookie choice. | Yes |
ldt-theme (browser storage, not a cookie) | This website. Remembers light or dark mode if you set one. | Yes |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA, when you submit a form, to tell people from bots. | Yes, for that form |
| Google cookies such as NID | Google Maps, only after you choose “Show map” on the contact page. | No |
_ga, _ga_*, _gid | Google Analytics, only after you choose “Accept all”. | No |
| None | Plausible analytics at analytics.pwjones.co.uk. It is cookieless and loads for every visitor. | No cookie |
Choosing “Necessary only” stops Google Analytics and clears its cookies in this browser. Plausible still runs, without a cookie. You can also block cookies in your browser.
Who receives personal data
- Amazon Web Services. The site is hosted in London (eu-west-2) and served through CloudFront. Enquiry emails are sent with Amazon SES in London to our business inbox. We do not keep a separate customer database on this website.
- Google. reCAPTCHA protects the forms, Maps shows the office, and Analytics runs only if you accept it. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. reCAPTCHA is also covered by Google’s terms.
- Plausible analytics hosted at analytics.pwjones.co.uk. It receives page, referrer, browser, and approximate location data, and it does not set a cookie.
We also share personal data where the law requires it, or if the business is sold and the buyer needs the records to continue the work.
Where data is processed
Enquiry email is sent from Amazon SES in London to our mailbox. The website files are stored in London and may be delivered from CloudFront locations outside the UK.
Google may process reCAPTCHA, Maps, and Analytics data outside the UK. Google describes the safeguards it uses for those transfers, including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, in its privacy terms. The Plausible host at analytics.pwjones.co.uk is a separate service from our London hosting.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and pack-request emails stay in our mailbox. If the message leads to work, we keep it for up to six years after that work ends. If it does not lead to work, we aim to delete it within two years.
- Newsletter details stay until you unsubscribe or we stop the newsletter. The email that recorded your tick may remain for the enquiry period above.
- Your cookie choice and theme stay in this browser until you clear the site’s data.
- Analytics providers keep their own records. We do not keep a separate copy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold personal data about you, and for a copy of it;
- correct it;
- delete it, or restrict how we use it, in the cases the law allows;
- give you a portable copy where the law requires that;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent, which you can do for analytics in the cookie banner and for the newsletter by email.
We aim to reply within one month. Write to mail@linedesigntechnology.com or the postal address above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would like the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. Consent for analytics and the newsletter is collected separately from this notice.
To ask about this notice, use the contact details above or our contact page.
