Daresbury Village Clearance Studies
Sharper planning conversations backed by clearance evidence.
Redrow commissioned GS6 clearance studies for a proposed housing scheme in Daresbury Village. LDT assessed working clearances to existing overhead lines so planning and design teams could see feasible options early.
Challenge
The proposed housing layout sat close to existing overhead line assets, so safe working clearances had to be proven before planning and design could progress with confidence.
Project teams needed concise technical outputs that non-specialist stakeholders—planners, developers, and design partners—could use in decision-making.
What we did
We structured GS6 clearance studies around the key decision points and likely planning queries for the Daresbury Village scheme.
Findings were communicated with clear assumptions and actionable next-step options for design development.
Results
Sharper planning conversations backed by clearance evidence.
Better alignment between engineering advice and the development programme.
Lower risk of last-minute redesign due to unclear clearance assumptions.
