LDT surveyors hold the requisite EUSR BESEC authorisation, in addition to Scottish Power WI-1/2 Authorisation.
They also utilise the very latest RTK GNSS, Reflector-less Total Stations, and Laser Scanners to complete highly accurate surveys for their clients.
LDT staff are also authorised to carry out aerial surveys by the Civil Aviation Authority and are licensed to operate remote-controlled aircraft for this purpose.

One such project presented a range of unique challenges due to the topography of the region in question. Scottish Power required a 7.5km, 33kV overhead power line route to be set out through a section of particularly rugged terrain that had been classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Despite the obvious trials involved in completing such a project, construction began right on schedule, with pole and stay positions that were accurate and clearly marked.
Scottish Power was then presented with as-built records to assist with ongoing asset management. LDT has now enjoyed working with Scottish Power on a diverse range of projects, including topographical surveys of existing line routes, in addition to overhead line survey and redesigns.
